The Huskies went o for 2 on the weekend, but they got some big contributions from some freshmen. The B’s struggled again dropping 2 out of 3.
Joseph Manno, F, Northeastern, 2GP, 2-0-2
All eyes were supposed to be on John Gaudreau, the forward who had originally commited to NU, only to back out and go to BC when Cronin left. Instead the story, was the guy who replace him: Joseph Manno. Manno was a UMass decommit, who Madigan picked up late. He had been good, but Saturday was his breakout party. He scored the first 2 goals of his college career, and had an outstanding game. Manno never stops skating and he isnt afraid to lay a hit once in a while. He is a great player to watch and he has really come along the past couple weeks.
Ludwig Karlsson, F, Northeastern, 2 GP, 1-1-2
The Freshman has been dominant in his short time with the Huskies, and he started to pick up the points this weekend. Friday night, he scored a great goal to keep the Huskies alive. Saturday, he picked up an assist. I don’t think we have seen the last of Karlsson in this space. He has the potential to put up many more big weekends.
Tyler Seguin, F, Bruins, 3 GP, 2-2-4
Another big week for the second year star. The Bruins may be suffering from a Cup hangover, but don’t include Seguin in that. He has 9 points in 8 games and he is already showing signs of the superstar he was hyped up to become. He has also made our 3 stars every single week so far.
