Things may not be going great for the Huskies but at least they aren’t 0-4 in HE play.  They do have their work cut out for them, however.

  • PC swept UVM over the weekend to improve to 4-2.  This still feels weird. First Merrimack got good, now PC too.  I am excited to finally see the Friars when NU plays them in a couple weeks.
  • UNH continued their bounce back, beating Umass on Friday and Maine on Saturday.
  • Saturday was a crazy day for Hockey East.
  • A 7-1 scoreline in Lowell would always raise eyebrows.  But even more so when its Lowell 7, BU 1.  Thats obviously a huge win for Lowell, who seems tremendously improved from last year.  The Ice is Life is so happy about that they have even promised a “This Week in Disrespect” for Wednesday.  Be sure to check that out.
  • Things are not going so well for BU.  Maybe Scoops was onto something…
  • The other surprise of the night was UMass pulling an upset on BC.   So maybe the Minutemen aren’t as bad as we thought either.
Hockey East, as always, is going to be strong this year.  Vermont is weak, but everyone else seems to on the way up.  This does not bode well for a struggling Northeastern team.  Its way too early to panic about missing the playoffs or things of that nature, but at the same time, its wrong to assume that there is an easy part of this season coming up for the Huskies.   Every team in the league is more than capable of playing good hockey.
